Green Team Project
About
At Akbatı, our teams - comprising security, cleaning, information desk and technical staff - play an active role in guiding visitors through the sustainability initiatives across the shopping center. They provide support when needed and help reinforce our commitment to sustainability. Through regular feedback from our teams, we identify areas for improvement in our environmental projects and continuously enhance our practices.
As part of the Green Team initiative, a total of 113 team members working at Akbatı and Akasya have received sustainability training. These trainings strengthen environmental awareness while equipping our teams to effectively guide visitors on sustainability-related topics.
International Recognition
The Akbatı Green Team initiative has been recognized at the prestigious Stevie Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of the business world,” which have honored organizations worldwide for their achievements, innovation and positive impact since 2002. The project received the Bronze Award in the categories of Sustainability Initiative of the Year – Europe and Social & Governance.
Approach & Impact
Through direct, on-site engagement, our Green Team ambassadors guide visitors on sustainability initiatives and encourage more conscious everyday behaviors. Moving beyond traditional communication methods, the initiative creates meaningful one-on-one interactions, fostering active participation and long-term awareness.
